It’s No Use Saying 说了没用
Son: Mum, Aunt Wang gave me some sweets.
Mum: Well, you had to say “Thank you!”
Son: Yes, I did. But it’s no use.
Mum: Why?
Son: Because Aunt Wang said, “You’re welcome.”
儿子： 妈妈，王阿姨给我糖吃了。
妈妈： 噢，那你得说声“谢谢！”
儿子： 说了，但没有用。
妈妈： 为什么？
儿子： 王阿姨说，“不用谢。”
Peter’s Answer 彼得的答案
Peter: Mum, black hens are cleverer than white hens, aren’t they?
Mum: How do you know that, Peter?
Peter: Well, black hens can lay white eggs, but white hens can’t lay black eggs.
彼得： 妈妈，黑母鸡比白母鸡聪明，对不对？
妈妈： 你是怎么知道的，彼得？
彼得： 嗯，黑母鸡能下白蛋，而白母鸡不能下黑蛋。

Mrs: Hello!How much
is the cat?
Mr: 100 dollars, Madam.
Mrs: But you only charged me 20 dollars yesterday.
Mr: The cat ate a parrot at home this morning. The parrot costs 80 dollars.
夫人： 嗨！这只猫卖多少钱？
先生： 100美元，夫人。
夫人： 可你昨天只要20美元。
先生： 因为这只猫今天早上吃了我家一只鹦鹉，那只鹦鹉价值80美元。
A Silly Servant 愚蠢的仆人
A servant broke a cup. His master angrily asked, “How did you break it?”
“Do you really want to know?” the servant picked up another cup and threw it onto the ground, “I broke it like this.”
一仆人打碎了一只茶杯，主人非常生气，问道：“你是怎么打碎茶杯的？”
“您真的很想知道吗？”仆人抓起另一只茶杯把它扔在地上，“我就是这样打碎的。”
