Guyuan, as the throat of the North Road to the east of the Silk Road, has been both the hub of the Guanzhong Pass since ancient times and the traffic gateway to Central and Western Asia of the Central Plains. It has a long history and rich cultural heritage. From 1983 to 1996, archaeologists unearthed a number of tombs in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, Sui and Tang Dynasties successively in the Guyuan area and unearthed a large number of relics reflecting the cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.
