Pulps composed of water and solid particles are often fed to hydroclones and other power classifying devices. Solid particles are usually composed of particles of different particle sizes, shapes and densities. In addition to the special characteristics of the same characteristics of the particles, the particles according to their differences in size, shape and density segregation. In hydrocyclones, segregation increases with increasing centrifugal acceleration. This article describes the theory of segregation, illustrating the main variables involved. The experimental data on the segregation of magnetite and / or mixtures of ferrosilicon and non-magnetite under different operating conditions are given.
