In this paper, the molecular structure and optical properties of cholesteric liquid crystal are described. The preparation, using method, measuring range and accuracy of liquid crystal temperature sensing element are introduced. The thermochromatic liquid crystal temperature sensor and digital liquid crystal temperature sensor are proposed.
