1993年1月18日第47届联合国大会针对21世纪地球将面临人口增长、生态环境恶化、水资源严重缺乏的危机,为警示人类要切实保护水资源,以增加公众关心水、爱惜水、保护水,合理开发利用水的意识,确定每年3月22日为“世界水日”。为把《水法》宣传活动与“世界水日”纪念活动衔接,水利部决定从1994年起,将每年7月1～7日的“水法宣传周”改为3月22～28日.在纪念第二届“世界水日”和第七届“水法宣传周”前
