以2,6-二甲基吡啶为原料,通过氧化、酯化、羟甲基化、卤代、Wittig反应,最后进行甲基化反应得到甲基吡啶盐.该吡啶盐具有明显的溶致变色现象,可用于普通有机溶剂中含水量的检测,其中在四氢呋喃中水含量的检出极限(DL)为0.0293%,优于目前的文献报道值.通过非线性拟合得出了可见光区域的最大吸收波长变化与含水量的方程式,根据最大吸收波长的数值可以直接算出溶剂中的含水量,具有很好的实用性.此外,还具有水溶性好、灵敏度高、响应迅速等一系列优点,具有很好的应用前景.
