三峡大学土木水电工程质量检测中心于2003年通过湖北省质量技术监督局组织的计量认证及建设厅组织的建筑工程质量检测技术资格评审,是建筑工程质量检测建筑材料一级检测机构,具备对外承担土木工程质量检测的独立法人检测单位。检测中心下设岩土、建材、结构、力学、水工水力、道桥、建筑物理和安全监测等8个专业检测室。具备检测能力项目包括:土工试验、岩石试验、水泥、混凝土、砂浆、砌墙砖、建筑骨料、路面检测、建筑物理实验、建筑钢材(含钢筋焊接、机械连接接头)、结构工程、水工水力学模型试验及水力学原型监测、水工安全监测、混凝土坝安全监测,土石坝面板堆石坝安全监测(含地下洞室、高边坡、地基与基础工程建筑物)和溢洪道水闸安全监测,是目前川东、鄂西检测项目较为齐全的专业检测中心。三峡大学土木水电工程质量检测中心成立3年来,主要承担了三峡工程二期泄洪坝段裂缝处理光纤安全监测,三峡库区重庆开县三期滑坡治理项目土工检测,房县谭家湾、关门山、杏水沟和郑湾水库坝及附属建筑物安全检测,保康寺坪电站岩石声波检测,荆门龙泉、潘集和象河水库坝及附属建筑物安全检测,三峡大学逸夫楼音乐厅声学参数检测,崇阳县台山水库坝及附属物安全检测,宜昌市云林路路面土工检测,陶粒混凝土导热系数及线性热膨胀系数检测,宜昌县十字沟、周家嘴、榨坊河和上木坪水库坝及附属建筑物安全检测,枝江马董路棉花桥和血防桥斜空心板检测,枝江市上百里洲堤防整险加固工程检测.枝江市太白、板门溪、龙头桥和熊家岗水库坝及附属建筑物安全检测等检测项目,受到业主、监理和施工单位的广泛好评,目前正在参与南水北调中线京石段应急供水工程漕河渡槽的6300t原型荷载实验
