钩吻碱系马钱科植物断肠草“Gelsemium elegans”“Gardn et champ”全草中所含的总生物碱。“中草药学”记载断肠草有剧毒,能消肿拔毒,散瘀止痛,杀虫等。民间用来治疗顽癣,肿瘤,止痛等。根、茎、叶均可入药,一般多鲜用或炒炭存性后研成粉末,亦可以烧灰(破坏大部分生物碱)后内服。该草初生嫩叶毒性最大,如服1～2片即可中毒致死,即使抢救,治愈率亦很低。
Leptophane is the total alkaloid contained in the whole plant of “Gelsemium elegans” and “Gardn et champ”. “Chinese Herbology” records that the severed grass is highly toxic, can eliminate swelling, detoxify, relieve pain, and kill insects. Folk used to treat stubbornness, cancer, pain relief and so on. Roots, stems, and leaves can be used as medicines. Generally, they are freshly prepared or fried into charcoal, and they are ground into powder. They can also be burned as ash (after destroying most alkaloids) and taken internally. The primary leaves of this grass are the most toxic and can be poisoned if they take 1 to 2 tablets. Even if they are rescued, the cure rate is very low.
