传统技法在描绘现代人物时存在着众所周知的局限。作者吸取西洋艺术造型技法,向现代焦墨、水墨画转型,以焦墨、水墨线写韵画形,以焦墨枯皴画结构,用毛笔线来刻画女性肖像的柔雅,力求突出温和文雅、形神兼备的形象气质,探索“雅致婉约与柔的形态表达”。一方面笔墨技巧和技法必须服从于形象的结构质感、量感与神态,另一方面也要体现作者个人的笔墨风格,以求“严谨粗放的结构与刚毅的神态塑造”。线描技法和艺术趣味均表现出流畅的线条、粗细轻重的变化,把“点线面的构成与精气神把握”及其特色发挥到出神入化的境界。
