电火花表面热处理即受控电火花放电,使金属表面在一定的温度梯度范围内是相变物理效应.它既不同于采用直流电空气中的电火花表面强化,又不是在介质中的电火花加工.本文对电火花放电的热传导方程与被生产,上采用的激光表面强化处理的热传导方程进行比较,且从强化效果、工件表层的金相组织与表层显微硬度的比较中得出;电火花表面热处理与激光表面热处理的效果相近,加之电火花加工设备比激光设备便宜得多,所以它很可能成为一种经济可行的新型表面热处理方法.
