Scientists at the Earth Station at Oakridge Observatory in Harvard now monitor the output of computers closely every day. Built in 1984, the ground station has a 400-foot radio telescope. Huge telescopes are scanning the sky all the time, hoping to capture the signals from the intelligent creatures in the Milky Way. Scientists believe that if the signal from a fixed point in the sky is enhanced, it may mean a “call” from a civilization outside the Earth. According to the host of the project, they have designed a computer capable of handling 8 million radio channels simultaneously. The search for extratermanary civilizations began as early as 1960. Now they are focusing their telescope on two 100 Earth
