In order to isolate Nestin-positive cells from human embryonic pancreatic tissue and further investigate the ability of the cells to expand in vitro and induce differentiation in vitro, Endocrinology Department of Peking University Third Hospital (100083) Hong Tian et al. Islet-cell clusters (ICCs) were isolated from embryonic pancreas tissue. ICCs were picked by hand and re-inoculated. After the formation of monolayer of epithelial-like cells, ICCs were subcultured and induced to differentiate. Using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometry
