“Listening teaching” points “to understand oral English” and “classroom activities suggested” two major parts. The first part briefly describes the nature of listening to native speakers and listening to foreign languages, and then to the second part: Methodological principles of listening activities. In the second part, listening practice is categorized according to whether the student intends to perceive (ie, to recognize and distinguish phonetic intonation) or to know what it means.
