一、《鸟》,1853年在南特郊区开始写作,翌年秋季在阿弗尔附近海滨完成。他对大肆捕杀鸟类深表忧虑,乃展示飞禽之美、之高尚,有益于人,以唤起人们爱鸟之心。此书分为两卷,上卷写鸟类通性及猛禽、海鸟等,下卷写鸣禽和益鸟。二、《虫》,1856年春在瑞士日内瓦湖北岸之蒙特勒、卢塞恩等地,他和年轻的妻子经常在杉树林间散步,细心观察昆虫生活, 由此开始撰写此书,至1857年秋于枫丹白露完成。凡三卷:《蜕变》,《昆虫的使命和技能》,《昆虫社会》。三、《海》,1861年出版。写成于他在英吉利海峡、大西洋和地中海海滨居住的几个不同时期。凡四卷:《海上一瞥》,《海的起源》,《征服海洋》,《海洋之复生》。四、《山》是米什莱最后一部研究自然的著作,于1869年写成于瑞士。其中主要写的是阿尔卑斯山,也有几章是他对比里牛斯山和亚平宁山的回忆。书分上下卷,上卷写山的种种不同面貌,下卷写山地、平原、森林中的生物,以及山地居民生活。米什莱的作品兼有历史学者的严谨和艺术家的抒情风格。作为历史学家,他的著作追求显示过去那个时代的全部风貌,不但对重大的历史事件强调真实精确,而且对于发生这些事件的地理环境、风物背景一一要求生动地再现,这就是他所谓的“斯土斯民”;他是一位历史进化论者。作为艺术家,他从来不写那种干巴巴的高头讲章,而写下的总是趣味盎然的优美散文。米什莱对人类社会和对大自然一样,观察入微,传绘实在,富于神韵,又复益之该赡之学识,旁征博引,无远弗及,堪称大家。
One, “The Bird,” started writing in the suburbs of Nantes in 1853 and completed in the autumn of the following year at the waterfront near Havre. He expressed his deep concern about the wanton killing of birds. It shows the beauty of birds, and is noble and helpful to arouse people’s love for birds. The book is divided into two volumes, written on the birds and general birds of prey, seabirds, etc., the next volume write songbirds and beneficial birds. Second, the “worm”, the spring of 1856 in Geneva, Switzerland, Lake Geneva, Montreux, Lucerne and other places, he and his young wife often walk in the cedar forest, careful observation of insect life, which began writing this book, to autumn in 1857 in Maple Dan Bai Lu complete. Mainly written in the Alps, there are several chapters is the memory of his contrast with the Niu Si and the Apennines. Mi Shilei works both the rigors of the historian and the artist’s lyrical style. As a historian, his works seek to show the whole style of the past era.
