沂水县属沂蒙山区，碘缺乏病（IDD）是我县主要地方病之一。通过多年防治，病情有了明显下降，但各地发病情况尚不平衡，为了及时掌握和了解IDD的消长趋势，科学地指导防治工作，巩固和发展已取得的防治成果，1995年7一12月，我们对全县1248名8—10岁儿童有关IDD情况进行了监测
