我在吉隆坡出生长大,算是当地的第三代华人。可是来到中国之后,经常会被称作华侨。其实这么称呼是错误的,因为只有我爷爷才能被称为华侨,因为他是中国出生,海外发迹。而我们包括我父亲在内,都是当地土生土长的华人,所以在中国应该称为外籍华人。这个概念,在中国读大学的时候,一个研究海外华人历史的教授纠正过我。 I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, regarded as the third generation of local Chinese. However, after coming to China, they are often called overseas Chinese. In fact, so called is wrong, because only my grandfather can be called overseas Chinese, because he is born in China, overseas fortune. And we, including my father, are all native Chinese, so in China they should be called foreigners. This concept was corrected by a professor studying the history of overseas Chinese when I was in China.
