This article reviews the three social movements that took place in Hong Kong in 2012 and aimed at cross-boundary movement of people from Mainland China and the policy measures introduced thereafter. They pointed out that Hong Kong’s border control over China and the Mainland has become more and more stringent since 2003, The opposite trend is more and more open. This change reflects that Hong Kong’s society is undergoing a process of reflection on its domestic interests and its relations with the Mainland.
