The candidates and their members are aggressively fighting each other and accusing each other of crimes. There have been some recent noisy parliamentary appearances in which the members of the government party (ie, the Liberal Party) and the opposition (ie, the Kuomintang) party started throwing ashtrays at the beginning, followed by handcuffing. An incident like this may create the impression that the election campaign is fierce and that there are any major national problems to be solved. but it is not the truth. Both the Liberal Party and the Kuomintang represented landowners and comprador groups whereby the American colonists took control of the Philippines, competing for power. Due to the interference of the United States, the competition benefits
