提到“老鼠”二字一般人都感到厌烦,究其原因无外乎老鼠是一种集百害于一身的动物。首先它能大量侵吞粮食,1只老鼠每天要吃掉25克粮食,平均每年大约消耗9公斤粮食。据联合国粮食组织的报告,全世界的农业约有20％损于鼠害。另据我国权威机构统计,我国每年被老鼠糟蹋掉的粮食有2000多万吨。另外老鼠扰乱工业正常生产,鼠类常常进入配电室引起短路,造成停电、停产事故。再者鼠类还传播疾病。然而制约老鼠数量的动物猫、猫头鹰、蛇、黄鼠狼等正在减少。这一现象引起了我们的焦虑,我们意识到由于人们对环境的破坏、鼠类天敌的大幅度减少、城市生物多样性降低,致使“果实-老鼠-食鼠动物”这一生态系统失去平衡。为此,我们要向大众说一声:“保护环境与保护生物多样性。”我们的调查以天津市河北区为重点,采取入户填表登记方法进行抽样调查,选择了区中心地带和城郊交界处地区。在区中心地带重点是3个街,鸿顺里街(42户),光复道街(56户),墙子等(40户),在城郊
