UED: Where did the post-insect era idea originate? How do I think about material selection? Feng Shu: I was 80 and I was born in Beijing so I often play insects when I was a kid. This is why I created this set of devices. They are made of ceramic and stainless steel with a contrast on the material. Ceramic is a very Chinese material, stainless steel represents the western industrial civilization. I think this comparison is very interesting. UED: And in volume is also a contrast. When looking at the introduction, the background is white, we think it is a small ornament. When you look at the real thing, you’re taken aback - so big! It’s like a Hollywood disaster that amplifies an insect and becomes a monster.
