On November 4, 1981, the A / S Sydvaranger wet ball mill, which processes 1,000 tons of iron ore per hour, completed four months of continuous full-load operation in Kirkenes, Norway. The 6.5-meter-diameter ball mill is powered by a gearless or wound motor with a motor speed of 13.1 rpm and a power output of 8,100 kW (10860 hp). This paper explores the reason why we should choose to drive the way to abandon the traditional design; proposed the characteristics of such a large mill; and introduced the installed capacity of the aircraft in Norway.
