通过几何作图的方法并从声学原理的角度讨论在对高频焊直缝纲管的焊缝进行超声横波探伤时,应该注意选择适当晶片尺寸的问题。指出在管直径较小时使用较大尺寸的晶片会在工件上产生表面波及其他波型的干扰,从而影响纯横波探伤时对焊缝缺陷的正确判断,给出了品片尺寸与管半径的关系供选择探头时参考。并对于其他同类型的管材横波探伤也有参考意义。
