对三塘湖盆地石炭系火山岩岩石学、储集空间类型及其成岩演化等研究结果表明,火山岩岩石类型主要为火山熔岩,以玄武岩为主。火山岩油藏储集空间以杏仁孔和基质溶孔为主。储层研究表明,岩石组构影响了储层孔隙度发育的潜力,少斑、多玻璃质以及多气孔的火山岩,在后期的改造溶蚀过程中火山岩储集性能的改善较为明显;溢流相顶部的渣状熔岩层在后期的成岩过程中形成的储集空间是主要的油气层;火山岩储层中沸石受风化淋滤以及有机酸溶蚀作用形成的沸石溶蚀孔区带是有利的储层发育区,纵向上沸石和绿泥石呈规律分布。
