及时测定高粱、玉米种子的含水量,对指导田间、场院的种子晾晒、脱粒及安全贮藏都有作用。我们从1978~1981年研究、试验了种子水分感观测定法。实践证明,用这种方法测定种子含水量,快速、准确,而且容易掌握。1.高粱的完熟粒和未完熟粒(青秕粒),用牙齿咬有喀喀的响声,同时能掉出较多的高粱碎粉面,种子的含水量一般在12~13.5%。2.高粱的完熟粒和未完熟粒用牙齿咬有喀喀的响声,并同时掉出少量高粱碎粉面,或高粱穗上的籽粒成熟饱满,穗颈秸秆用手一折就断,并有喀喀的响声,同时还掉出一些秸秆瓤的碎末,种子的含水量一般在14~14.8%。
