In 1935, U.S. President Roosevelt signed a bill to establish a social security system. Under this system, the government draws a certain percentage of salary tax from the wages of employed persons and puts it into the social security fund for the payment of pensions so as to guarantee the most basic living standard of retirees. However, this system has been implemented for more than 60 years and, like many other government projects, there is a problem of “high cost and low efficiency”. For this reason, over the years, people from all walks of life in the United States are enthusiastically discussing the reform plan on the pension system. However, the overwhelming majority of proposals for reforming the pension system are conscious, unclear and unrealistic.
