The eastern Pacific Rim has become an important oil-producing region in the world. Oil and gas production is mainly controlled by fault basins influenced by the Late Mesozoic to Cenozoic Pacific Rim structural system and divided into three sections: North, Central and South. Most of them are zonally fractured basins formed in the Tertiary. There are three types of traps. The distribution of oil and gas reservoirs is constrained by the Early Tertiary oil-producing center. The author believes that in the future, a large number of oil and gas fields will be found in the fault to be explored, more strata and lithologic reservoirs are found in more mature exploration basins, and inland salt lake basins are promising basins. The underlying layers of fault basins Department is a potential destination layer. Sedimentary basins in the coastal areas are considered to have good prospects according to their respective developmental characteristics and basin analogies.
