教育的本质是育人性、生产性和社会性的统一,即教育作为培养人的社会现象,是随着人类社会的产生、发展而产生、发展的,与社会生产、经济基础、政治制度以及科学技术的发展等有着密切联系。化学教育作为社会现象的基本活动形式之一,是在学校教育体系建立、完善的过程中,而成为毋庸置疑的客观事实,也是公认必须慎重从事的工作。因此,必然有研究化学教育这种社会活动的科学——化学教育学的存在,对整个化学教育的规律、过程、内容和方法进行探索,从而使化学教育踏着时代的步伐日臻完善,成为一个整体。
