2010年6月23日,教育部在天津召开“卓越工程师教育培养计划”启动会,联合有关部门和行业协(学)会,共同实施“卓越工程师教育培养计划”。它是贯彻落实《国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要(2010~2020年)》和《国家中长期人才发展规划纲要(2010~2020年)》的重大改革项目,也是促进我国由工程教育大国迈向工程教育强国的重大举措。同济大学是第一批“卓越工程师教育培养计划”实施高校之一,其交通工程本科专业以培养“知识、能力、人格”全面发展的创新型人才为目标,其交通工程专业(信息方向)课程体系也进行了改革。改革强调要设置均衡的课程体系,加强实践教学环节,加强综合能力与人格培养。同时提出,在实施课程体系改革过程中需要重点关注并解决四个问题,即教师队伍建设、长期对口的校企合作、广泛的国际联合培养及课程门类精简。
