湖北西部发现结膜吸吮线虫人体感染１６例，经调查其保虫宿主家犬的自然感染率达６４．７％（５５／８５）。对其致病作用进行了动物实验研究，表明其致病性与感染虫体数目和感染时间长短有关，并对其成虫进行了扫描电镜观察，证实其体表的形态结构亦与致病有关。
Sixteen cases of conjunctival sucking nematodes were found in the western part of Hubei Province. The natural infection rate of their host was 64.7% (55/85). Its pathogenicity was studied in animal experiments, which showed that its pathogenicity was related to the number of infected parasites and the duration of infection. The adult worms were observed by scanning electron microscopy and confirmed that the morphological structure of the body surface was also related to pathogenicity.
