凯瑟琳·曼斯菲尔德(1888-1923)是20世纪初英国著名的短篇小说家,因其短篇小说独特的叙事风格和文体特征,她被成为“英国的契诃夫”。其作品其作品多描绘形色各异的女性,从平时的日常小事反应男权社会里女性的凄惨命运。男权社会里,女性是男性的附属品和玩偶。本文试从其短篇小说经典之作《一杯茶》入手,分析贵妇罗斯玛丽和讨茶钱的女孩两个人物形象,探析本小说里的女权主义思想。
Katherine Mansfield (1888-1923) was a famous English short story writer at the beginning of the 20th century. She was known as “Chekhov in Britain” because of her unique narrative style and stylistic features. His works are mostly portraying women of different colors, and reflect the miserable destiny of women in the patriarchal society from everyday trivial matters. Patriarchal society, women are men’s accessories and dolls. This article attempts to start from the classic “a cup of tea” of his short story, analyzes the images of lady Rosemary and the girl who sought tea money, and analyzes the feminist thoughts in this novel.
