Angela Carter is one of the most ingenious female writers in Britain. The short story “The Bloody Room” is Carter’s classic work, which has received much attention and appreciation from scholars at home and abroad. This article uses Foucault’s body political theory to analyze and interpret it. Women write their manifesto through the body, thus explaining Carter’s feminist thinking, opposing the oppression of patriarchal society and striving to achieve the goal of a harmonious relationship between the two sexes.
