As the purest art in literary works, the language of poetry is full of rhythm and rhythm. The particularity of the form of poetry and its highly culturally concentrated form have caused the difficulty in the translation of poetry. As a collection of the oldest Chinese poems, The Book of Songs started its English translation in the middle of the eighteenth century. The translations of James Legge and Xu Yuanchong are well represented, and the two translators’ translations have a great style difference. Taking “Xiao Ya Cai Wei” as an example, the thesis compares and contrasts the two versions from three aspects: image and mood, rhyme management and form correspondence.
