The ~ (66) Ge and ~ (67) Ge isotopes were synthesized by bombarding native nickel targets with 72.5 MeV and ~ (12) C ions and the recoil nucleus was transported to a low background region outside of 8 m using a gas nozzle transport technique Gas phase separation.
