For me, Yu Jian’s poem first appeared in Kunming Qianqian Street, a small one that can only stand three people in the Mak Tin bookstore. The Note Book, a small book of 216 fragmented short poems and some local photographic works of various objects, is the kind of book that can be put in a pocket for two pages at any time. The book is now yellowing and brittle, the title page says September 15, 2002. That is the day when poetry enters into my body. Because from the strong poetry there I have another pair of glasses to watch the world.
