In this paper, a relatively simple and labor-saving field sampling method for chironomid dissection in paddy fields was introduced. The shrouding method was used to compare the structure of Chironomus pumila in paddy field with that obtained by shrouding method. The results showed that Chironomus sinicus Kiknadze, Wang, Istomina & Gunderina, Chanyomus sinicus Kiknadze, Tanytarsus formosanus Kieffer from Taiwan and Polypedilum nubifer Skuse Tanypus puncitpennis Meigen, and the Limnophyes minimus Meigen was collected from the trematode. The Chironomus sinicus and Chironomus japonicus were the dominant groups, and the population density of the two dominant species sampled by the shrouding method was higher than that of the trematode method. For example, the population densities of Chironomus chinensis were sampled by shrouding method at jointing stage It is 22 times as good as the trematode method. Through the comparison of sampling coefficient of variation found that the accuracy of the two methods are not ideal, in the future experiments by increasing the sampling sample size or sampling area to improve accuracy. In contrast, the treater method is complicated and time-consuming, and is often limited by the actual conditions. The shrouding method has the advantages of simple operation and high accuracy. The experimental arrangement can sample at high frequency and can accurately Reflects the population dynamics of chironomid in the field. Therefore, the shrouding method provides a new sampling scheme for the future study of paddy field arthropod groups (such as mosquito insects) with similar habits to the mosquito.
