The prototype of the Radiation Early Warning System has been installed at the Seibostof Research Center in Austria. The purpose of developing this device is to detect and track all the relevant parameters necessary for early radioactive contamination. The station contains the following means: a radiation monitoring channel for measuring the surrounding gamma dose rate; a meteorological monitoring channel for measuring air temperature and humidity, wind direction and wind speed and rainfall; a data processing and storage device. The system can automatically run under harsh environmental conditions and access to data. It is connected to the central processing platform by leasing dial-up lines, public switched telephone networks or by radio frequency transmission. The remote can retrieve and store at least one month of data continuously, even if the communication line is interrupted. Multiple stations can be linked together to provide detailed radiological and meteorological data at each point. This will enable us to detect, track and forecast the increased levels of environmental radiation based on the calculations of the prevailing local meteorological data. The precision software used in the central processing platform uses a three-dimensional dispersion computing model that provides a time-forecast of dose distribution.
