朱洗老师早年在法国蒙不里大学(Mootpellier)巴德荣老教授(E. Bataillon)实驗室工作期間,从事两栖类、家蚕和海胆等卵球成熟、受精、杂交及其人工单性生殖等細胞学研究。1933年归国后,他以毕生精力,用蛙类、蚕和魚类作为材料继续工作,探讨細胞分裂过程里中心星光、染色体、细胞核和細胞貭在空間上与时間上的分裂节奏问题,并結合卵球成熟和受精生理,实驗分析,从而发展了“卵球內中毒与排毒”的理论。与此同时,鉴于中国是个人口众多的国家,亟需解决吃、穿、用的问题,因此,近十年来,先后在蓖麻蚕驯化、保种以及家魚人工生殖等有关生产的课题方面,作出了一定的貢献。
