阜南县位于黄淮海南部,紧靠淮河北岸,光、热、水资源十分丰富。年平均雨量为916.6毫米,在夏播作物生长期(6~9月)间降水量平均在360~400毫米,有效积温为2700℃,日照时数为918.3小时,基本上满足了麦茬红麻的生长需要。该县是麦茬红麻的主产区,面积较大,但单产低。为了改变当前麦茬红麻低产面貌,我们通过几年的试验和调查,总结出一套适合沿淮地区麦茬红麻高产栽培的综合技术。一、及时灭茬整地据调查,沿淮地区麦茬红麻传统种植方法为麦收后,免耕播种。而我们通过试验认为:麦收后,及早灭茬整地播种较免耕播种纤维产量增加6%。所以,沿淮地区在麦收后,有条件的地方,可采用小型手扶旋耕机及早进行灭茬整地;条件差的地方,要耕后耙碎,方可播种。
