A new study shows that regular participation in social activities can delay the degradation of older people’s memory and thinking skills. Researchers in the United States conducted a study of 256 elderly people, whose average age was 87 years old. At the start of the study, these people did not have any memories of their ability to think. After four years of follow-up study, they found that these people engaged in activities such as painting, sculpture, carpentry, pottery making, sewing, or often watching movies, reading clubs, searching the internet for data, conducting online shopping, etc., .
