Objective To investigate the content of CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells and the expression of FoxP3 mRNA in Tregs in patients with gastric cancer and its clinical significance. Methods Flow cytometry (FCM) was used to detect the Treg cells in peripheral blood of 20 patients with gastric cancer. Meanwhile, the expression of FoxP3 mRNA was detected by RT-PCR and compared with the peripheral blood of 20 healthy volunteers Analysis. Results Treg cells in peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer accounted for (12.76 ± 0.46)% of the total number of CD4 + T cells, which was significantly higher than that of the healthy controls (6.81 ± 0.66)%, (P <0.01) (0.84 ± 0.02)%, which was significantly higher than that in the healthy control group (0.76 ± 0.03)% (P <0.05). Conclusion The number of Treg in peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer is significantly higher than that in normal people, accompanied by the high expression of FoxP3 mRNA, suggesting that FoxP3 may play an important regulatory role on Treg, which may affect the antitumor autoimmune function of gastric cancer patients.
