Objective To investigate the value of dynamic contrast-enhanced 1.5 T magnetic resonance imaging in angiogenesis of advanced gastric cancer. Methods Forty-one patients with advanced gastric cancer underwent enhanced scanning with a 1.5T MR scanner to obtain dynamic enhanced imaging parameters. Immunohistochemical staining of gastric cancer tissue sections was performed to observe the expression of microvessel density (MVD) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in cancerous tissues and to study the correlation with MR dynamic enhanced imaging parameters. Results The peak value of enhanced gastric cancer was positively correlated with MVD, and the peak time was negatively correlated with MVD. The peak of enhancement of VEGF-positive group was higher than that of negative group, and the peak time was shorter than that of negative group. Conclusions Dynamic contrast-enhanced MR imaging can reflect the expression of MVD and VEGF in advanced gastric cancer and can predict the tumor angiogenesis of advanced gastric cancer without any invasiveness.
