Two psychologists from Columbia University and Stanford University in the United States have found that if consumers are asked to pick one of six or 24 kinds of jam, people are willing to have more choices. However, when they really decided to make a purchase, the purchase decision made by the people selected from among the 6 types of jam was 10 times that of the 24 kinds of jam.
