晚明时期的文人士大夫们所醉心的生活方式和理想,不是学而优则仕,而是寄情山水、沉迷声色,追求富于景致的生活而热衷于造园,借此以营造其理想的栖息、之所。这使得那个时期在中国的造园美学和欣赏品位上达到了历史上的极致,也给我们今天从事现代环境艺术设计留下了丰富的园林建筑和视觉图像。在我所做的一个现代别墅环境艺术设计中,就希望能汲取晚明文人丰富的造园经验,力图在现代的商业空间中流露出一些室庐清靓之意。在这个设计项目中,我除了从市场定位的角度出发进行空间设计之外,还从《园冶》、《长物志》 In the late Ming and early Ming dynasties, the literati and their beloved lifestyles and ideals were not learned from the rules of the government.
