克新四号是黑龙江克山地区农科所于1963年用白头翁作母本与卡它丁杂交育成。1973年引入我所,经3年川旱地试验,产量均居首位。1973年平均亩产2,465.5斤,高出对照四川紫9倍多。1974年平均亩产2,400斤,高出对照红眼22.45％。1975年多雨,平均亩产4,456斤,高出对照红眼46.93％。1976年二季留种整薯播种,亩产5,400斤。经多点示范,表现增产。子长县冯家屯大队试验,产量居首位,亩产2,832斤,比对照红眼增产23.24％;吴家坪大队在川地粮薯间作试验
