广东顺德龙江镇的贞女桥,原名老女桥,传说宋代女子吴妙静新婚之日,未婚夫在迎亲时溺水身亡,她遂出资在溺水处建造一座五孔石桥,并终身守节。明清时期,地方仕宦出于教化需要,不断发掘有关吴妙静的传说故事,在其建造的桥上竖立了“贞女遗芳”牌坊,将其塑造为节孝双全的女性形象,成为地方社会重要的文化资源。广东仕宦对其形象进行塑造的目的是借此在地方推行王朝教化,强化人们对王朝统治的认同感,从而将地方文化逐步整合到统一的中国文化之中。
In the town of Longjiang, Shunde, Guangdong, the virgin bridge, formerly known as the Bridge of the Old Woman, was said to have drowned during the wedding of her fiance when Wu Miaojing, a woman of the Song Dynasty, was newly married. She then funded the construction of a five-hole stone bridge in a drowning place and for a lifetime. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, local officials chose the story of Wu Miaojing unceasingly for their enlightenment needs. They erected the “False Fragrant Fragrance” arch on the bridge built by them and shaped them into women’s image of filial piety and filial piety, Socially important cultural resources. The purpose of Guangdong’s officialdom in shaping its image is to promote the establishment of the dynasty by localizing it and strengthen the identity of dynastic rule so as to gradually integrate the local culture into a unified Chinese culture.
