Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a certain recurrence rate after surgery even if it is completely removed. Therefore, postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy is necessary. The authors conducted a clinical study of oral anticancer agent 1-hexylmethylamino-5-fluorouracil (HCFU) after radical resection of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with stage II HCC with cirrhosis to evaluate its efficacy. METHODS: Patients with rod-hardened HCC admitted from 1988.5 to 1990.10. The pathological stage of HCC is according to the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) standard.
