Oil and gas inclusions are paleo-petroleum components preserved in minerals. In the present study, 18 oil and gas reservoirs from different areas of Junggar Basin and different petroleum geologic background were used for the analysis of the present saturated hydrocarbon components of oil and gas and hydrocarbon inclusions by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results show that the geochemical characteristics of oil and gas inclusions from two samples taken from the margin of the basin, especially the geochemical parameters related to oil source and parent material input types and sedimentary environment are basically the same as those of present oil and gas compositions, Oil and gas components and today’s oil and gas components are from the same source rock; from the reservoir of the abyss of 16 reservoir samples, oil and gas inclusions related geochemical parameters and today’s oil and gas components are significantly different, reflecting the paleo-hydrocarbon group The sources of oil and gas components of today are different. This is consistent with the geological background of multiple sets of source rocks in the abdomen of the basin.
