The stream of consciousness is a modern literary genre prevailing at the beginning of the 20th century. It emphasizes the transformation of the inner monologue and time space, and the desalination of the storyline to show the complex and changeable psychological structure of the modern western society. Against the background of materiality and rationality at the time, anti-rational voices gradually sounded, especially on the topic of gender equality. One of the most prominent is Virginia Woolf, a stream-conscious novelist who not only practices sensuous and intuitionistic stream of consciousness writing in her writing, but also gives voice to the double pressure that women suffered in the process of creation. This article will explore the deep relationship between the novels of stream of consciousness and feminism from the perspective of feminism and Woolf ’s writing history and related works, and then explain the feminine contemplation on self and the outside world in the patriarchal society.
