2014年12月28日,由中国国家博物馆与中国书法家协会联合推出的“中国国家博物馆典藏——中国古代书法”专题展正式面向公众开放了。自2011年中国国家博物馆建成开放后,相继有中国古代青铜器、佛造像、玉器、钱币、瓷器等专题陈列开展,中国古代书法展在丰富国家博物馆专题展览展陈体系的同时,也为研究和鉴赏中国古代书法艺术的人士们提供了一个广阔的交流学习平台。中国国家博物馆从成立至今一直重视对古代书法的征集与收藏,历经百余年的不断积累目前已有相关文物3万余件,种类涵盖甲骨、金文、陶文、砖瓦文、玺印、钱币、文书、写经、碑拓、宋元明清书家名作,不论从数量还是质量上在国内收藏中都居于前列。本次展览遴选出约120余件展品以文物种类和时间顺序进行陈列,充分体现了中国书法实用与艺术并重的双重性格。
