中国共产党的优秀党员、我国杰出的桥梁专家、中国科学院院士、铁道部科学研究院原院长、研究员程庆国同志,因病医治无效,于1999年8月18日6时50分在北京逝世,享年72岁。程庆国同志1927年10月11日生于浙江省桐乡县崇福镇。1946年9月～1946年11月就读于北京燕京大学(历史系),1946年11月～1950年7月就读于北京清华大学土木工程系。1950年5月加入中国共产党。1951年8月～1956年6月赴苏联列宁格勒铁道学院研究生院学习,毕业后获技术科学副博士学位。1950年7月～1951年7月,在甘肃天水西北铁路干线工程局任实习生;1956年8月～1957年8月,在
Comrade Cheng Qingguo, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, an outstanding bridge expert in our country, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the former president and researcher of the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Railways, died at Beijing’s capital at 6:50 on August 18, 1999, 72 years old. Cheng Qingguo was born on October 11, 1927 in Chongfu Town, Tongxiang County, Zhejiang Province. From September 1946 to November 1946, he studied at Yanjing University (Department of History) in Beijing and from November 1946 to July 1950 at the Department of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing. May 1950 joined the Chinese Communist Party. From August 1951 to June 1956, he studied at the Graduate School of the Leningrad Railroad Institute in the Soviet Union. After graduating, he obtained a doctoral degree in technical sciences. From July 1950 to July 1951, he worked as an intern at the Engineering Bureau of the Northwest Tianshui Railway in Gansu Province; from August 1956 to August 1957,
